Dorothy May Hoobler

The family wishes to thank Tidewell Hospice and Nursecore for their compassionate care of their loved one. Dorothy May Hoobler, 86, of Punta Gorda passed away December 29, 2007. She was born June 30, 1921 in Evanston, Illinois to Samuel and Harriet (Henwood) Osborne. Dorothy moved to Punta Gorda in October 2000. Her life was filled with music which included singing in the church choir, a Sweet Adelines chorus and member of a barbershop quartet. Dorothy enjoyed swimming, bowling, traveling and raising her three children. She will be greatly missed by her sister, Barbara (Gordon) Kruse of Valparaiso, IN; daughters, Judith A. Beste and Barbara L. Miller both of Punta Gorda ; son, Bruce A. (Vikki) Miller of Sacramento, CA; stepdaughter, Janet L. Hoobler Hall of San Jose, CA; nephew, Thomas (Theresa) Kruse of Valparaiso, IN; niece, Susan Kruse of Hawaii. Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry W. Hoobler. A memorial service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, January 12, 2007 at the Punta Gorda Chapel of Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
