Dorothy Mary Michelson

Dorothy Mary Michelson, 81, of Punta Gorda passed away February 1, 2009. She was born December 12, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to Cecil and Dorothy (Francis) Bowen. Dorothy worked as an elementary school teacher for the Elgin, Illinois public school district for 25 years before retiring and moved to Punta Gorda from Elgin, Illinois in 1981. She attended 1st United Methodist Church in Punta Gorda and enjoyed sculpturing, painting and gardening. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her husband of 61 years, Harry; daughter, Ann Christine (Dave) Tackett of Land of Lakes, FL; son, Harry (Patti) Michelson of Muckwonago, WI; grandchildren, Kate, Colter and Rachael and great grandchild, Anthony. A memorial service will be at 1:00 pm, on Friday, February 6, 2009 at 1st United Methodist Church in Punta Gorda. Memorial donations may be made to 1st United Methodist Church.
