Clinton D. Greenbank

Clinton D. "Mick" Greenbank, 95, of Punta Gorda, FL went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2016 at Douglas Jacobson Veterans Nursing Home. He was born March 20, 1921 in Ashland, OH to Charles and Clara Greenbank. Mick graduate from Wellington High School and proudly served in the US Navy as a Radar man during WWII on an LCI landing craft in the amphibious forces in Okinawa and Enoshima. He retired from Sterling Castings Company, Wellington, OH as a consulting engineer after 50 years with the same company. Mick studied metalogy at Cleveland State and Western Reserve colleges, Cleveland, OH. After retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife in their motor coach to every state plus cruise ships to Alaska, Panama Canal, Mexico and the Caribbean. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, golfing and a softball pitcher. Mick was a member of the Eagles, the American Legion and First Baptist Church in OH and NM. As an artist he enjoyed painting wildlife and was appointed New Mexico State Representative for the World War II landing craft infantry veterans. In 2009 he had the honor of being flown to Washington, DC to visit the World War II monument with the Honor Flight. Mick is survived by his children, Joanne Cole, Beverly Bada and Michael Greenbank; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Gene. Burial will be at 9:15am, July 29, 2016 at Sante Fe National Cemetery.
