Cheryl J. Grafton

Cheryl (Mathews) (Bridgers) Grafton, 66 of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of Braintree, MA, passed away February 19, 2013. She was the daughter of John and Katherine (nee Wright) Mathews, born July 29, 1946 in Brockton, MA. Cheryl worked in office administration for General Motors Parts Division for 30 years before retiring. Cheryl's community involvement included volunteering with Humane Society, VA Hospital and 10 years with Punta Gorda Police Department and she generously supported Crossroads for Boys, Toys for Tots, Salvation Army, and many others. Cheryl enjoyed playing card games with friends, planning and hosting parties, and sharing her delicious baked goods with all. She liked yard sales, entertaining visitors, and traveling with her husband especially on trips to Las Vegas. Cheryl was a member of Congregational United Church. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 11 years, Vincent; daughter, Lisa (Dennis) Jessick of MA; son, John (Suzanne) Bridgers of MA; step-sons, Paul Grafton and Edward (Bonnie) Grafton and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Bonnie Brandi and Linda Eason. A memorial service to celebrate Cheryl's life will be at 10:30am, Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Granite Grill, Braintree, MA immediately followed by a brunch. A memorial service to celebrate Cheryl's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Congregational United Church, Punta Gorda. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cheryl's memory may be made to John M. Mathews Scholarship Fund, c/o BHS, 348 Pond St., Braintree, MA 02184.
