Charles Greene Ashley, 91, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on February 15, 2020, surrounded by his children, Steve (Kathy) Ashley of Tennessee and Roxanne (Bob McLean) Jamnik of Maryland. Chuck was born on February 4, 1929, in Crandon, WI and later moved to Oakland County, MI. He retired from Numatics, Inc. after 36 years and relocated to Punta Gorda, FL in 1999. He shared 60 wonderful years with his beloved late wife Barbara (Baird).  After he lost his wife in 2010, he met Myra Key, his special companion for 7 more happy years until she passed away in 2018. Chuck was an Army Veteran and a tireless worker, always ready to help anyone. His interests included traveling, fishing, wheeling and dealing on boats and cars, square dancing and loving his devoted family.  He was a Christian and died with the blessed assurance of knowing he was going with Jesus. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  Chuck leaves behind a loving family: 4 grandchildren: Steven (Kelly) Ashley, David (Tracy) Ashley, Allison Geary, and Nate Jamnik, as well as 4 great-grandchildren: Brian, Erika, Brendon, and Zeeva; his brother Bill and his sisters Lorene and Bonnie, as well as many nieces, nephews and special friends: Ed and Linda Key. Chuck is predeceased by his parents Poley & Barbara Ashley, his brothers Lonnie, Jerry, Edward and Paul and his sister Dorothy. Chuck will be buried at Sarasota National Cemetery next to Barbara in a small private service.
