Bernadine B. Moon

Bernadine "Bern" Moon, 51, of Port Charlotte passed away December 22, 2008. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Lou (Keefer) Bernia, born February 18, 1957 in Grand Haven, MI. Despite having rheumatoid arthritis, Bern enjoyed needle point and petit point; she also enjoyed floral arranging. Known as an awesome cook, she won several blue ribbons for her jams and jellies. Bern came to Port Charlotte in 1998 and owned Absolute Value Bookkeeping Service for 8 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Port Charlotte. Bern will be remembered as a selfless person whose first ingredient in anything she did was love; she had a wonderful sense of humor. Bern will be greatly missed by her husband of 31 years, T. Robert Moon; daughter, Laurel Moore; grandchildren, Alex and Julie Moore; mother, Mary Lou Bernia; sister, Jolene D'Luge; sister-in-law, Kay Moon; nephew, Gregory D'Luge; and niece, Shelby D'Luge. She was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Bernia. The service in celebration of Bern's life will be at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, December 30 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
