Barbara Jean Edwards

Barbara Jean Edwards, 67, of Punta Gorda, FL went home Saturday, October 24, 2015. She was born January 1, 1948 in Ft. Atkinson, WI to Orin and Gwendolyn Johnson. Barbara Jean was a lifelong resident of Punta Gorda and attended Charlotte High. She enjoyed camping, being outdoors and get togethers with her friends, but most of all she enjoyed her family. Barbara Jean was a very strong, proud, independent woman, and she left this world the same way she came in fighting. She was truly an amazing friend, mother, and grandmother, always putting her family first. Barbara Jean will be deeply missed by her son, Tommy (Lori) Wells of Bradenton; daughters, Cindy Wells of Port Charlotte, Tosha (Jessie) Blevins of OK, Jamie Edwards of Punta Gorda and Marcy (Squeaky) Edwards-Beasley of Punta Gorda; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Debbie Boyette of VA; soul sisters, Linda Hembree and Judy Dudley both of Port Charlotte and long friends Paul and Gill of Punta Gorda. She was preceded in death by her parents and long time companion, Norman Bright. A celebration of Barbara Jean's life will be held at 1pm, Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Scotties Last Chance Saloon, Punta Gorda.
