Andrew Kolba, Jr.

Andrew Kolba, Jr., 83, of Sarasota, FL passed away April 12, 2016. He was the son of Helen and Andrew Kolba, Sr., born March 20, 1933 in New York, NY. Andrew was a Sgt in MP with the National Guard for 12 years. He was a longtime resident of New Jersey and moved to Florida with his family for retirement and worked part-time for the Sam's Club on Bee Ridge as a greeter and was known as a funny guy with the "God Father" voice. Andrew was a devoted Christian and would enjoyed leading prayer groups during his lunch time. He was an avid baseball fan of the Detroit Tigers and played in the AA series as a catcher. Andrew will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Andrew will be greatly missed by his wife of 62years, Cicelia; children, Diane (Lafe) Bianche, Andrew (Barbara) Kolba III, Susie (Will) Wollenberg, Edward (Donna) Kolba and Lynn (David) Zachos; sister-in-law, Joan Kolba; fourteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Kolba. A memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Sarasota Baptist Church, 7091 Proctor Rd, Sarasota, FL 34241.
