Alvin Earl Anderson

Alvin Earl Anderson, 82, of Punta Gorda passed away December 7, 2009. He was the son of Andy and Queenie (Powell) Anderson, born March 31, 1927 in Washington, DC. Alvin worked for Washington Gas & Light Company and was a manager when he retired. He moved to Punta Gorda in 1990 from Ellicott City, MD. Alvin owned several types of animals and enjoyed caring for each one. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching the old westerns on TV. Alvin will be greatly missed by his daughter, Anita (David) Leach of Nokomis; son, Andie Anderson of Port Charlotte; grandchildren, Lyndsay and Justin Cissne, and Nannette and Jake Anderson; and brother, Leroy Anderson of Maryland. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 38 years, Ann Jane Anderson. The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 pm Monday, December 14, 2009 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. The service in celebration of Alvin's life will be at 10:00 am Tuesday December 15 at the funeral home. To express condolences to the family, please sign the online guest book.
