Alina D. Kawejsza

Alina D. Kawejsza, 71, of Port Charlotte, formerly of Norwalk, CT passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015. She was the daughter of Boleslaw and Emilia Wnukowski, born December 28, 1943 in Poland. Alina was the owner/operator of Basia's Food Mart in Port Charlotte. She attended St. Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Church. Alina loved caring for and spending time with her family, as well as her beloved dog, Cookie and also enjoyed spending time at the casino and scratching tickets. She will be remembered for her strength, determination and luck. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 50 years, Zdzislaw "Joe"; children, Bogdan (Donna) Kawejsza, Diane (Stephen) Kurtessis, Lee (David) VanDeusen and Barbara (Robert Heffley) Kawejsza; sisters, Wanda and Stella; grandchildren, Ryan, Krissi, Stephen, Rachel and Shealyn and great-grandson, Trevor. The family will receive friends 2 to 4pm, Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. A funeral mass will be held at 11am, Monday, September 28, 2015 at St. Maximillian Kolbe Church, Port Charlotte.
