Albert E Charters, Jr

Albert E Charters, Jr. 88, of Port Charlotte passed away September 3, 2015. He was the son of Albert Charters, Sr. and Bessie (Black) Charters, born May 13, 1927 in Mamaroneck, NY. Albert moved to this area in 1986 from Valhalla, NY. He retired from CBS Television where he was a broadcast engineer for 34 years. He was a proud US Navy veteran, and a member of Elks Club #2153. Albert will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Frances; children, Dawne Charters Nelson of Martha's Vineyard, MA, Doreen Charters of Punta Gorda, and Douglas Charters of Bronxville, NY; and granddaughters, Elin and Niole Nelson. The service in celebration of Albert's life will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Town Hall at South Port Square.
