Eric and Carolyn Johnson are excited to announce the much-anticipated groundbreaking ceremony of their new Funeral Home and Life Celebration facility. As many are aware, Johnson-Taylor Funeral & Cremation was completely devastated by Hurricane Ian on September 28, 2022. After months of working with McGarvey Development, Charlotte State Bank, civil engineers, architects, and governmental agencies, the time has come to begin rebuilding.

We are excited to provide you with an update on the progress of our funeral home's rebuilding project. We understand the importance of transparency and want to keep you informed every step of the way.

We are pleased to announce that our plans have been accepted and approved by the Development Review Committee, which comes as a tremendous relief. This milestone marks a significant accomplishment and brings us closer to the realization of our vision for an improved and modern funeral home facility.

The next crucial step in our journey is obtaining the building permits from the FDOT within an estimated timeframe of 30 days. Once we secure the FDOT permit, we will promptly submit our application for the building permit from the City of Punta Gorda. This step signifies a major leap forward as it allows us to progress toward the actual construction phase.

We truly appreciate your continued patience, support, and understanding during this rebuilding process. Our ultimate goal is to create a funeral home that not only meets but exceeds your expectations, ensuring a comforting and supportive environment during times of loss.

Please stay tuned for further updates as we progress through each stage of the project. We remain grateful for the opportunity to serve you and your loved ones, and we look forward to unveiling the revitalized funeral home in the near future.

Thank you McGarvey Construction Company and Charlotte State Bank & Trust for helping us achieve our dream with a brand-new state of the art facility for our community. We will continue to keep you updated on the progress of our new facility, stay tuned.

Welcome to Johnson-Taylor Funeral & Cremation

Johnson-Taylor Funeral & Cremation is a local, veteran family-owned Funeral Home in Punta Gorda, FL. We offer affordable cremation and burial services. We invite you to learn more about our family funeral home. We trust you will find helpful information and answers to questions that will make it a little easier to begin the process of deciding what services are right for you in the privacy of your own home.

"Caring as only a neighbor can" is more than a slogan. The meaning of a good neighbor is not only someone who lives close by - it is someone you can count on to be there when you need them. We at Johnson-Taylor Funeral & Cremation would like to accommodate any funeral or cremation requests that you have. You may schedule a visitation for funerals where friends and family can say goodbye at an open-casket ceremony. The funeral can be as casual or traditional as you would like. And if you would like a private or public graveside ceremony, we can arrange that.

You will find that direct cremation is the most affordable cremation, which is the service only without a corresponding ceremony. If you would like to plan a memorial service after the cremation, loved ones can gather together in a beautiful venue at the funeral home or your place of choice. A memorial ceremony can be held at the convenience of each family, as it does not have to adhere to a strict burial timeline.

Johnson-Taylor Funeral & Cremation proudly serves Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, North Port, Arcadia, North Fort Myers, Babcock Ranch, Cape Coral, Englewood, and Rotunda. Because our home is veteran-owned and veteran supported, military honors are a regular part of each service for those who qualify. You can also purchase funeral products through our funeral home and pick out your unique casket, urn, vault, or memorial.

For pre-planning funeral services to get your wishes on record, contact us at Johnson-Taylor Funeral & Cremation. Your family will thank you for your thoughtfulness that will allow them to focus on mourning instead of planning after your death. In contrast, if you have an immediate need, please visit 1515 Tamiami Trl Punta Gorda, FL 33950, or call (941) 833-0600 to get started on planning.
